Just a fore-warning...this post will be full of pointless rants and me complaining. I had a bad day and I need an outlet. There may be some swearing too, but I'll keep it to a minimum.

So my job sucks...I've mentioned that in my journal several times over the past year. Today just put me over the edge though. Its a really tough situation and I'm really having a hard time with it. They called me in early today because they got slammed and needed some extra help. That is completely fine with me, I don't mind helping out. But when I get there the store is a mess and isn't stocked at all. When I clock in and everything I notice Angie, the morning supervisor, going to the break room. I just assumed she was going to the bathroom or something. Five minutes later I see her walk past the front of the store. She went home. She left me with a bare store and the new girl. She hadn't done the morning laundry and dishes, she didn't take the money to the bank to be counted and we were crazy busy. I was infuriated. The manager is on vacation this week, so I didn't want to bother her. But I did document what happened and had Tori sign it saying she was there and that what I said happened was true. I vented to Tori for awhile and she did the same to me...I was over it. Then Heather comes up to the counter. Heather used to work with me, but she graduated from college in May and left. She is in town for a week before moving away to Virginia...5 hours from here. We were pretty close when we worked together and I hadn't seen her since she left the country. So her and Meaghan (another coworker) wanted me to go out to dinner with them and to the movies this Friday night. I thought that would be fine, I could just switch shifts with Sara so I could be off by 5 rather than 9:30. I didn't even think it would be an issue since I had worked for her MANY times. But when I asked her she flat out said no, because she needs the hours. I was being very flexible with her...I told her I could work 9am-1pm and she could work the rest of the day...that would give her 8.5 hrs! She just kept telling me no. Keep in mind that I came in ON MY VACATION WEEK OFF to work for her so her and her boyfriend could go out for their anniversary...and shes not even with him anymore. This just really struck me the wrong way and I was actually kind of offended. I was speechless really. I just said "Ok see ya"...thats all I could think of...though right now I am thinking of much better things I could have said. I just don't know what to do at all. I used to really like everyone there but now I can only stand about 2 or 3 of them...not counting the new ones. It just really irritates me that I work for them or switch them shifts ALL the time without even hesitating...expecting the same in return. I rarely ever ask someone to switch me, and if I do its a valid reason. I have worked there for a year and I have NEVER once called off...we have people who call off 6 times a month. I'm baffled as to why they still have a job. BUT as much as it pains me to say...some of these people are my FRIENDS. If I don't have my work friends...that doesn't leave me with a whole lot. Meaghan is one of my best friends...we text all the time and really work well together and have great conversations. I have known Lara for about ten years now and we really get along. She told me tonight how happy she is that I work there and she was glad she was able to help get me the job. Thats about it lol I like the manager Louise, but she refuses to take any iniative and fire their asses. The bottom line is I don't know if I should quit once the summer is over or not...cause after fall comes the Chistmas season, and I can't even imagine going through that again. No, I won't.

On the subject of friends...I pretty much lost the last one I had left from high school. Lindsay was at the mall while I was working the other night and she stopped by. Cut to 6 months earlier...the last time we hung out. She had just ended it with her crazy-possesive-psycho boyfriend and was already getting involved with another ex who she loathed just weeks earlier. She also had the nerve to tell me that I would most likely spend the rest of my life alone. I'm not really sure where that came from...I didn't care to know. Shes a self proclaimed Anglophile too...and that just bugged me. Move to England dumbass. She's 20 years old and doesn't have a job...shes going to a state University which isn't exactly cheap and her parents don't make a ton of money. Maybe its just me, but I think by the time you are 20 y/o you should at least have a part time job. Shes just a moron really. Anyway back to earlier this week. She said something like "Did you lose my number or something". So I explained that I had just finished up summer classes and worked 7 days in a row....I've had a hectic schedule recently. She just kinda scoffed at me and intoduced her current flavor of the month named Dave...I think. She told me to call her sometime and being a jackass, I asked her if she got one of those new fangled phones that can only receive calls not dial them. Maybe it was childish, but Lara and I had a good laugh. Ya know...things are different outside high school and people and friendships can change a lot.

I watched Saw 3 last night. Utter disappointment. I loved the first 2...among my top fave horror movies. This one was just gore gore gore. I hated that all of the victims died...that takes the entire point away. The deaths were horrible gruesome and disturbing. It takes a lot for me to be disturbed. I do not tolerate Achille's tendons being ripped by chains or rib cages being ripped apart...the acid scene was the worst for me though. I did like the twists though and how all the victims played a part in the boy's death. Oh and the pig scene...disgusting...I wouldn't WANT to live through that. I saw the poster for Saw 4...I have no choice but to see it though haha

Yay! You're back.

Oh, and yea. I don't, and never have had a job. But I can see how it'd be pretty stressful. Sorry about the job and your friends. =(

Aww :( I'm sorry about that.
*hugs*

It's tough, people do change a lot after high school. It sounds cliche, but at least you have the memories.
